Our History

West Tower

Standing at 140 metres (40-stories) high, West Tower is Liverpool’s tallest building and one of the tallest in the United Kingdom, with views spanning the Liverpool city skyline, Merseyside, Blackpool Tower and as far as Snowdonia in North Wales. Work began back in 2005 and was completed in 2008. Built by Beetham Organisation, the skyscraper was originally intended solely for luxury apartments to include 7 penthouse suites and office space. It wasn’t until work on the skyscraper was almost complete, that Hugh Frost, Beetham’s CEO, had the bright idea of incorporating a restaurant on the 34th floor.

Panoramic 34

Panoramic 34 opened its doors to the public in 2008, The goal of the restaurant was to match the breath-taking views with even better food and after many years of serving the people of Liverpool, the UK and further afield, we like to think we have.  Back in 2011, Hugh’s wife Cathy took over the operational control and in the years we have been open, Panoramic 34 has seen everything from the Cunard’s Three Queens gracing the waterfront, to the Giants, victory parades and river festivals. We have seen a lot in our time and let’s hope we see plenty more.
